Job Title: Chief, IT Business Management Section

Join the State of California team as a Chief, IT Business Management Section and play a key role in shaping the future of our organization.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT professional to lead our IT Business Management Section. As a Chief, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the Department of Transportation's Contract and Performance Management, including IT Acquisitions, Certifications, and Contracts, as well as Technology Business and Financial Management Operations, and Administrative Operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, plan, organize, and manage the functions of subordinate groups.
  • Gain and maintain the confidence and cooperation of others and act with flexibility and tact to achieve the goals of the Division, Department, and the Chief Information Officer.
  • Work as a liaison with the IT Certifications and Division of Procurement and Contracts in the processing of procurement packages and collaborate on the adoption of common procurement practices and shared services.
  • Foster and build a dynamic team to provide innovative solutions.
  • Coordinate workload with staff ensuring equal distribution of assignments and ensure that priorities are well defined and communicated, while escalating issues and risks appropriately with recommended mitigations.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Two years of experience as an Information Technology Supervisor I; or
  • One year of experience as an Information Technology Supervisor II; or
  • Six years of information technology experience performing a variety of progressively responsible technical, analytical, or supervisory tasks in support of computer systems or services in one or more of the major six domains or a closely related or emerging IT field.
