Substance Abuse Treatment Specialist

As a Substance Abuse Treatment Counselor at MCSG Technologies, you will play a critical role in providing counseling services to adults, adolescents, and children with substance abuse issues. Your expertise will help identify potential improvements in our substance abuse programs, policies, and procedures. You will work closely with the Behavioral Health Director to analyze report data and provide recommendations for the treatment of patients with substance abuse issues.
Key Responsibilities
• Analyze report data to identify potential improvements in substance abuse programs, policies, and procedures
• Provide counseling services to adults, adolescents, and children with substance abuse issues
• Complete diagnostic assessments for substance abuse as required by judges or related to legal charges
• Document client encounters using our existing charting system
• Provide recommendations to the Behavioral Health Director and other healthcare team members for the treatment of patients with substance abuse issues
• Analyze situations and conditions to identify problems, trends, and demands for substance abuse services and provide technical assistance
• Provide professional consultation for cases involving dual diagnosis of mental illness and alcoholism or substance abuse, or child abuse or neglect linked with alcohol or other substance abuse
• Make recommendations to providers of care to ensure appropriate clinical course of treatment
• Assist in behavioral/psychiatric situations within the outpatient care setting, including crisis intervention and observation of aggressive or suicidal patients
Requirements
• 2 years of clinical experience in alcohol/drug treatment counseling
• Bachelor's Degree in Behavioral Science/Counseling or Certified/Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor
• Public Trust security clearance
