Discover the Beauty of Northern Arizona
Community Overview Chinle, Arizona
This position is located in a picturesque area of Northern Arizona, where the rich cultures of the Hopi and Navajo Nations converge. If you have a passion for the outdoors and an appreciation for Native American heritage, this role is an excellent fit for you. You will be situated just minutes away from Canyon de Chelly, a remarkable archaeological site that is among the largest in the United States. The stunning red rock formations and lush canyons will captivate you, while the proximity to several National Parks, including the Grand Canyon, offers endless exploration opportunities. Additionally, you will have the chance to contribute to addressing the healthcare disparities in one of the most underserved regions of the country, where the local populations face significant health challenges due to limited access to care.
Facility Overview: Chinle Comprehensive Health Care Facility (CCHCF)
This facility is dedicated to providing essential medical services to approximately 35,000 Navajo individuals. Many patients travel considerable distances to receive care, often lacking basic utilities such as electricity and running water in their homes. A significant portion of the elderly population communicates primarily in Navajo and adheres to traditional cultural practices. The Chinle Comprehensive Health Care Facility includes a 60-bed inpatient hospital and outpatient services, offering a wide range of medical care including Adult and Pediatric Inpatient Care, Outpatient Primary Care, Emergency Medicine, and various specialty services such as OBGYN and Labor & Delivery.
