Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Welding Instructor to join our team at the Virginia Community College System. As an Adjunct Welding Professor, you will be responsible for teaching a variety of welding classes at our Manassas campus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver effective welding courses to students with diverse academic backgrounds and experiences.
  • Teach a range of welding classes, including SMAW, GMAW, GTAW processes, and oxy-fuel and plasma arc capability.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of students with varying skill levels.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in welding education.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; at least 5 years of full-time welding experience in the industry preferred.
  • Knowledge of machine setup and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate welding ability.
  • College-level teaching experience preferred.
  • AWS certified welder (present or past) a plus.
  • Experience with Canvas or other LMS systems a plus.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Office.
