Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced welding instructor to join our team at the Virginia Community College System. As an adjunct welding professor, you will be responsible for teaching a variety of welding classes at our Manassas campus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver effective welding courses to students with diverse academic backgrounds and experiences.
  • Teach a range of welding classes, including SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, and OXY-Fuel processes.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of students and align with curriculum standards.
  • Assess student learning and provide constructive feedback to improve student outcomes.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in welding education.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; at least 5 years of full-time welding experience in the industry preferred.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, and OXY-Fuel processes.
  • Machine setup and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate welding ability.
  • College-level teaching experience preferred.
  • AWS certified welder (present or past) preferred.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Office.
Working Conditions

This is a part-time, adjunct faculty position. Teaching load is based on student enrollment and staffing needs. Adjunct faculty members are employed to teach up to 12 credit hours in the fall and spring semester and/or up to 8 credit hours during summer session.
