Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Coil Cleaning Specialist to join our team at Hays Consolidated Independent School District. As a key member of our Maintenance and Operations department, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of our HVAC systems by cleaning and maintaining coils.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and Clean HVAC Systems: Conduct thorough inspections to identify various types of heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems, and perform cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure optimal efficiency.
  • Conduct Energy Conservation Surveys: Periodically conduct energy conservation surveys to determine equipment and procedures necessary to realize the most efficient, cost-effective use of HVAC systems.
  • Maintain Cleaning Logs and Records: Maintain accurate cleaning logs and records to meet requirements and ensure compliance with established procedures.
  • Operate Equipment and Tools: Safely operate equipment and tools, including power washers, coil cleaning machines, shop vacuums, and other necessary tools, following established safety procedures.
  • Perform Basic Electrical Functions: Perform basic electrical functions, including turning off power disconnects to HVAC systems, to perform job duties.
  • Perform Other Duties as Assigned: Perform other duties as assigned by management to support the efficient operation of our HVAC systems.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Five years of steady employment preferred, with one year of working knowledge of HVAC cleaning.
  • Special Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of service techniques for heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration, basic understanding of coil cleaning techniques, ability to communicate and follow instructions, and ability to operate hand and power tools.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent travel to various locations throughout the district. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on safety and efficiency.
