Government Contracting Counsel

JLL, a world-leading professional services and investment management company specializing in real estate, is seeking an experienced Chief Counsel – Government Contracts to provide expert legal advice on government contracting matters.
About the Role- As Chief Counsel – Government Contracts, you will be responsible for providing high-level legal guidance on a wide range of government contracting issues, including research, compliance, contracts, and transactional work.
You will interact with senior business leadership, external counsel, clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure that JLL's government contracting business is conducted in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Review and consult on contracts with the Federal Government, State/Local/Education (SLED) clients, prime contractors, and vendors, including facilities management contracts, research agreements, commercial real estate transactions, sustainability contracts, and P3 advisory contracts.
- Supervise and mentor government contracts legal staff and associated workload.
- Coordinate with business and external counsel to develop optimal strategies to respond to and resolve commercial disputes, including litigation.
- Advise on bid protests and contract disputes, as well as small business issues and joint venture formation.
- Develop, review, and update JLL policies, procedures, and template agreements regarding government contracting.
- Juris Doctor from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record.
- 10+ years of experience with a major law firm or corporate setting specializing in government contract law, with significant experience negotiating contracts.
- Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. state or District of Columbia.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills essential, with ability to conceptualize and articulate pragmatic/creative legal and business solutions to complex challenges.
The estimated total compensation for this position is $180,000.00 – 230,000.00 USD per year, which includes personalized benefits that support personal well-being and growth, such as a 401(k) plan, comprehensive medical, dental & vision care, paid parental leave, and paid time off.
