Position Overview:

The successful applicant will be a Reservoir Engineer with 5-12 years of expertise, dedicated to advancing Flywheel Energy's mission of growth through strategic acquisitions. While experience in Acquisitions and Divestitures (A&D) is advantageous, it is not a prerequisite. A solid grounding in ARIES is essential, complemented by varied experiences such as financial statement evaluation, type curve development, reserves modeling, data management, and Spotfire analytics.

This role requires an individual who thrives under pressure within a collaborative environment and possesses a growth-oriented mindset to enhance their acquisition assessment capabilities. Familiarity with multiple basins, proficiency in SQL or other programming languages, and experience in other petroleum engineering roles will further enrich the value brought to the Flywheel Energy team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acquisition and Divestiture Evaluation: Lead technical assessments of potential acquisitions or divestitures with minimal supervision, including the creation of an ARIES database that accurately reflects production forecasts, commercial assumptions, and undeveloped potential.
  • Subsurface and Undeveloped Modeling: Spearhead subsurface and undeveloped modeling efforts with limited oversight, incorporating geological and geophysical analysis, type curve creation, spacing studies, inventory management, risk assessment, development strategies, and commercial/Capex considerations.
  • Asset Budget and Reserves Management: Oversee the maintenance and updating of ARIES upstream databases (or coordinate with external auditors) for periodic reserves assessments and annual budget revisions, encompassing production forecasts, commercial inputs, CAPEX considerations, and Midstream/SWD models.
  • Operational Support: Provide Reservoir Engineering expertise as necessary to enhance operations, particularly in detailed economic modeling and significant production enhancement capital projects.
  • Effective Communication: Convey relevant technical assumptions and findings clearly to diverse audiences, including technical colleagues, senior executives, and financial stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • 5-12 years of experience in Reservoir Engineering, including oversight of reserves and asset economic modeling.
  • Proficiency in ARIES.
  • A growth mindset aimed at expanding skill sets and adapting to Flywheel's data ecosystem.
  • Strong ability to communicate technical information effectively to various audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Acquisition and Divestiture processes.
  • Basic proficiency in SQL querying.
  • Familiarity with other programming languages (e.g., Python).
  • Experience as a Spotfire Analyst.
  • Basic knowledge of ArcGIS mapping.
  • Recent experience in major basins.
  • Experience in additional Petroleum Engineering disciplines.
