Project Engineer I Job Description

OHLA USA is seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer I to join our team in Bronx, NY. As a Project Engineer I, you will play a critical role in providing technical engineering and project control support on our heavy civil and transportation construction projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, and Crews to ensure project deliverables are met.
  • Manage and process material deliveries, ensuring materials received meet contract specifications and are properly inspected for quantity and quality.
  • Negotiate and manage subcontractor and material contracts.
  • Assist in developing and updating project schedules.
  • Coordinate and schedule shop drawings and submittals.
  • Maintain accurate records of submittals, approvals, and resubmittals.
  • Contribute to cost control system operations and analysis of construction costs.
  • Participate in monthly forecasting revenue and cost accruals.
  • Prepare monthly pay estimates and process change orders and requests for information as directed by the Project Manager.
  • Adhere to OHLA USA policies and procedures, including safety protocols.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in heavy civil construction.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and build strong relationships.
  • Previous NYC DOT or NYCT experience is a plus.
  • Bridge/steel/concrete experience is strongly preferred.
