Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough patient intake and preparation for examination and treatment, ensuring accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Manage medical supplies and equipment, maintaining a clean and organized environment that meets infection control standards.
  • Perform various clinical tasks, including injections, splinting, and wound management, under the supervision of APRNs or physicians.
  • Collect and prepare blood samples and specimens for laboratory analysis, adhering to strict protocols to ensure accuracy and patient safety.
  • Accurately document patient information, including new prescriptions and refills, lab and radiology orders, and referrals.
  • Coordinate patient handoffs, ensuring seamless communication between clinicians and specialists.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, educating patients on their treatment plans and promoting patient retention and practice financial success.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, maintaining a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.
Qualifications
  • Current MA/BLS/CPR certification required.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a medical office setting as a medical assistant.
  • Phlebotomy experience required, with a minimum of one year of experience.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field, with considerable prior coursework or on-the-job training in medical assisting.
  • Proficiency in Epic EHR.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of infection control and supply management principles.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information with discretion.
