Key Responsibilities of the Safety and Security Specialist:
Operate under general supervision and in accordance with established policies and procedures to manage access points
Support the Emergency Department by remaining vigilant for fire and safety risks, regulating access to the facility, responding to emergency codes, and assisting in enforcing hospital regulations.
Qualifications:
In addition to bringing your authentic self to work each day, qualified candidates will need the following:
Must be at least 21 years of age
Familiarity with Life Safety Codes and Joint Commission Environment of Care Compliance Regulations
3 years of security-related experience in a healthcare environment, or equivalent security experience outside of healthcare, or law enforcement, required
6 years of security-related experience in a healthcare setting or law enforcement, preferred
High School Diploma/GED Required
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required within 90 days of hire
Valid Driver's License for the State of Colorado required
Essentials of Aggression Management in Healthcare certification (EAM) required within 30 days of hire
Taser Certification required within 30 days of hire (not required in Utah)
Medium Work - (Ability to exert up to 50 lbs of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs constantly)
This full-time position will cover our operational needs during daytime hours.
