The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a dedicated Research Scientist to contribute to groundbreaking studies in the field of cardiovascular health.
The successful applicant will possess a PhD in a relevant discipline, with a focus on clonal hematopoiesis. A comprehensive understanding of genome instability as it relates to hematopoiesis and cardiometabolic diseases is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in full-time research activities
- Prepare for a career in academia or research
- Work under the guidance of a senior researcher to facilitate the publication of findings
- Perform additional tasks as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Doctoral or master's degree with pertinent experience
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of postdoctoral experience, ideally with expertise in vascular biology, microscopy, ultrasound imaging, murine disease models, and cardiovascular imaging.
This position is contingent upon funding availability and may be renewed annually. Candidates with eligibility for NIH postdoctoral fellowships will be given preference. All applications must be submitted through the designated job board, including a CV/Resume and Cover Letter. Background checks and a pre-employment health screening are required.
