Role Summary:
  • Oversee the entire estimating process for designated bids or projects.
  • Provide detailed conceptual and final estimates for complex electrical projects.
  • Evaluate proposal requirements, analyze drawings, and engage in pre-bid discussions to clarify project scope and estimate components.
  • Utilize historical data from purchase orders, subcontractor inputs, and productivity reports to enhance unit and man-hour estimates.
  • Prepare estimates through comprehensive takeoffs using specialized estimating software.
  • Identify potential risks in estimates to ensure all necessary provisions are included in the proposal.
  • Ensure the accuracy, organization, and punctuality of estimates before submission deadlines.
  • Maintain comprehensive backup documentation and collaborate with field operations for seamless project transitions.
  • Mentor and support junior estimators and members of the Preconstruction team.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • 8-10 years of experience in estimating, cost management, or engineering within the electrical construction industry.
  • Proven track record in estimating and negotiating intricate projects.
  • Thorough understanding of company protocols, estimation techniques, and relevant software applications.
  • Strong capability to coordinate and manage group projects effectively.
  • Excellent technical, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Accubid and Accubid Live Count Software is a plus but not essential.
