Job Summary

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as construction project representative for complex projects, ensuring successful delivery and compliance with project plans and specifications.
  • Maintain detailed records and documentation of construction activities, including daily observation reports and project documentation.
  • Coordinate directly with clients, contractors, and engineers on day-to-day construction items, providing technical advice and guidance as needed.
  • Perform or coordinate construction material testing procedures and interpret results, ensuring accuracy and quality.
  • Perform or coordinate measurement of construction work products for determination of project quantities and associated payment, ensuring timely and accurate payment.
  • Coordinate construction site surveying and review of construction staking in the field, ensuring compliance with project plans and specifications.
  • May perform detailed engineering computations, drafting, and plan production work, as needed.
  • Provide technical advice regarding construction modifications and repairs, ensuring compliance with project plans and specifications.
  • Inspect project sites and evaluate contractor work for conformance with project plans and specifications, ensuring quality and accuracy.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Associates degree in Civil Engineering Technology (or equivalent degree) plus four years of related experience OR 10 years of related construction experience.
  • MnDOT Technical Certifications for Grading and Base I & II, Concrete Field I & II, and Bituminous Streets I & II are preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of MnDOT and/or CEAM specifications, general provisions, and standard plates, is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate and demonstrate an understanding of engineering concepts.
  • Possess a valid driver's license as travel to various facilities and job sites may be required.
  • Working understanding and experience working with AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred but not required.
