Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Technician to join our team at PrairieCare. As a Psychiatric Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to children and adolescents experiencing psychiatric/mental health disorders.

Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and assist in the mental health symptom management of child and adolescent patients.
  • Ensure the safety of patients and staff during programming by constantly monitoring the milieu for potential safety risks and reporting issues appropriately.
  • Effectively use therapeutic approaches to manage milieus, reducing the use of restraint and seclusion when possible.
  • Complete documentation in a timely manner and plan and facilitate psychoeducational groups with patients when scheduled during shift.
  • Provide a therapeutic and healing environment, promoting the best patient experience and care.


Requirements:
  • High school graduate required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in mental health gained through academic college or university education in behavioral sciences, or equivalent study and/or experience.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate and make safe judgment calls in stressful situations.
  • Ability to multi-task, use time efficiently, and prioritize appropriately.
