About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Architect to join our team at Expeditors International. As a key member of our Connected and Intelligent Solutions - Service Provider Portfolio, you will be responsible for driving architectural initiatives to deliver business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with CIS-SP and Enterprise architects to contribute to the strategic technical direction of the enterprise.
  • Provide a high-level, all-inclusive vision of solutions and development initiatives to key stakeholders.
  • Define key technical initiatives that support Lean Budgets via Enabler Epics.
  • Participate in all designing and code reviews.
  • Help build value streams that adhere to budget guardrails for retiring solutions.
  • Lead the strategy for building and maintaining the architectural runway.
  • Understand and communicate Strategic Themes and other key business drivers for architecture to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Drive architectural initiatives in the ART and participate in epic analysis where applicable.
  • Influence common modeling, design, and coding practices.
  • Promote Continuous Delivery Pipeline and DevOps capabilities.
  • Collect, generate, and analyze innovative ideas and technologies to use across the business.
  • Facilitate the reuse of code, components, and proven patterns.
  • Synchronize system and data security, quality production infrastructure, user experience, scalability, performance, and other Nonfunctional Requirements (NFRs) across solutions.
Requirements
  • Personal and professional alignment with Expeditors culture and ten critical success factors.
  • Proven experience as a logistics and technology-oriented leader.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, Rest API, Soap, Kafka, Angular, Flutter, Kibana, CI/CD pipelines, PL/SQL, PostgreSQL, or DB2.
  • Good knowledge in version control tools like GIT, Eclipse, etc.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and execution capabilities.
  • Experience in leading teams, collaborating with multiple stakeholders, and driving implementations.
  • Experienced problem solver, strong collaborator, and able to provide clarity around complex topics, innovative thinker, and effective decision-making skills.
  • Experience with DevSecOps, Lean, Agile, and the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
  • Assertive personality, interpersonal, action and outcome-driven leadership.
  • Ability to actively inspire, coach, mentor, and motivate.
  • Ability to promote autonomy, mastery, and purpose through empowerment and creating leaders.
  • Good experience of working in an Agile environment with multiple releases running parallel adhering to established standards.
