Key Responsibilities:
- Design and execute an effective system for identifying, assessing, documenting, and reporting infections that may arise from staff interactions.
- Collaborate with the personnel director to develop and implement our employee health services program, which includes individual counseling.
- Provide guidance and support to employees as outlined in our infection control and health program.
- Work collaboratively to assess and refine control practices and aseptic techniques to ensure that sanitation standards are upheld throughout the facility.
- Establish criteria for classifying all routine and anticipated job-related tasks to ensure proper identification and documentation of tasks involving exposure to blood or bodily fluids.
Training Opportunities:
On-the-job training in Infection Control is available for qualified RNs and LPNs.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a Nursing Degree from an accredited institution and graduation from a Connecticut-approved RN program.
- Proficient in spoken and written English.
- Able to push, pull, move, and/or lift at least 40 pounds to a height of 3 feet and carry such weight a minimum distance of 4 feet.
- Proof of Covid-19 vaccination and booster required.
