The Credentialing Coordinator will play a vital role in supporting the administrative tasks related to remote reading physician credentialing at CortiCare. This position involves organizing, maintaining, and verifying all aspects of the credentialing process, ensuring current files are up-to-date on practitioners. The successful candidate will track the expiration of certifications to maintain accurate files and assist hospital customer med staff offices with phone inquiries.

To excel in this role, you should ensure the currency and accuracy of all information. Preferred candidates will be reliable, energetic, and possess excellent people skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process initial credentialing and re-credentialing applications
  • Screen practitioners' applications and supporting documentation to determine eligibility
  • Collect information from the National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB), the applicant, and their malpractice insurer, as well as other relevant sources
  • Identify discrepancies in information and conduct follow-ups
  • Present applications to the facility's Credentialing Committee
  • Assist customers with credentialing inquiries
  • Capture primary source documentation in computer databases
  • Ensure data is backed up
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, procedures, and policies

Supervisory Responsibility:

None to start, with potential to provide supervisory oversight to the scheduling team as the company continues to grow.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent
  • 2+ years of credentialing experience with hospital medical staff
  • NAMSS Certification as a Certified Professional Medical Services Manager (CPMSM) or Certified Provider Credentials Specialist (CPCS)
  • Knowledge of medical credentialing and privileging procedures and standards
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Word and Excel
  • Proficient touch-typing skills
  • Ability to focus for extended periods
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
