Cayuga Counseling Services, Inc. is seeking a Full-time Day Treatment Mental Health Therapist to join our team. The successful candidate will provide individual and family psychotherapy, plan and facilitate group therapy, and provide crisis intervention to clients in the Day Treatment Program.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individual and family psychotherapy to a caseload of clients in the Day Treatment Program
- Plan and facilitate group therapy to a caseload of clients in the Day Treatment Program
- Provide crisis intervention to clients in the program and to their families, including making home visits when necessary
- Schedule psychiatric appointments for clients in the program
- Attend weekly classroom team meetings to collaborate with the classroom team and support staff at BOCES
- Participate in a multi-disciplinary team approach to treatment planning, case reviews, and discharge planning
- Plan and implement therapeutic activities that meet program goals and individual treatment plan objectives
- Provide case management services to coordinate treatment with other agencies and providers
- Attend collateral meetings, such as Committee on Special Education (CSE) meetings with the treatment team/home school district, as well as treatment team meetings with families and outside service providers
- Participate in the development and maintenance of the therapeutic environment, which meets the client's needs and promotes growth
- Maintain accurate and concise written records in the clients' charts, in accordance with CCS policies and Office of Mental Health Regulations
- Participate in weekly supervision meetings with the Program Coordinator
- Master's degree in social work, Mental Health Counseling, or other graduate counseling programs
- Minimum of one-year clinical training and experience treating children with emotional disturbances
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Excellent communication skills
- 2 PTO days

- 90 hours of sick time annually (accruing 7.5 hours per month)
