About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Traveling Superintendent to join our team at Jobot. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for overseeing the execution of manufacturing and light industrial projects across the country.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement Safety and Quality Programs: Develop and implement safety policies and quality programs to ensure strong performance on safety audits and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Manage Subcontractors and Vendors: Manage the activities of subcontractors, vendors, and labor, maintaining strict control over the accuracy and quality of each work activity.
  • Identify and Report Problems: Identify and report problems or deficiencies to the Project Manager, documenting on-site activities that may impede progress or compliance to project/contract requirements.
  • Review Change Orders and Budgets: Review change orders with the Project Manager prior to execution, maintain strict control over the budget for each work activity, and coordinate receipt of and inventory of all Owner-supplied materials.
  • Prepare Project Status Reports: Assist in preparation of project status reports, provide status and photos weekly, and provide complete daily reports to the Project Manager.
  • Maintain Open Communication: Maintain open communication and goodwill with the Owner's representative by coordinating pertinent work activities, attending project progress/scheduling meetings, and understanding the client's expectations.
Requirements
  • 5+ Years of Construction Experience: 5+ years of construction experience as a Superintendent, with a strong understanding of construction management principles and practices.
  • Travel and Temporary Residency: Ability to travel extensively and temporarily reside at the project site for extended periods of time, with travel home provided every other weekend.
  • Critical Path Project Schedule: Capability of maintaining and following a Critical Path project schedule.
  • Project Documents and Specifications: A thorough understanding of and ability to maintain current, complete sets of project documents, blueprints, revisions, specifications, and related items.
  • Leadership and Problem-Solving Skills: The desire to succeed, with strong leadership and problem-solving skills, and the ability to juggle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Computer Skills: General computer skills, with a willingness to expand use of new technologies for scheduling and reports.
