Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Site Safety Officer to join our team at Doyon Limited, Doyon Drilling, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment for all employees and subcontractors on our construction sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and take corrective action
  • Provide training and education to employees and subcontractors on safety procedures and protocols
  • Investigate accidents and incidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
  • Collaborate with project managers and supervisors to ensure safety is integrated into all aspects of the project
  • Develop and maintain safety records and reports to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as occupational health and safety or a related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction safety, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior safety role
  • 30-hour OSHA construction safety class
  • Experience working on construction projects with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and/or the Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification
  • Certification in fall protection, HAZWOPER 40, lead awareness, blood-borne pathogens, first aid/CPR, confined space management, general competent person, trenching and shoring competent person, control of hazardous energies, forklift, man-lift, and fire watch training
  • Average of at least 24 hours of formal safety training each year for the past 4 years
Working Environment

The Construction Site Safety Officer will work in a fast-paced construction environment, with frequent travel to project sites. The successful candidate will be required to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in other hazardous environments.

Salary and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $92,159-$135,239 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. The successful candidate will also be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, vision, dental, flexible spending, employee assistance program, group and voluntary life and disability insurance, and 401(k) retirement plan.
