About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled SBA Underwriter II to join our team at Truliant. As a key member of our lending group, you will be responsible for underwriting SBA and traditional commercial loan requests, preparing loan packages for approval, and ensuring compliance with SBA Standard Operating Procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Underwrite SBA loan requests, analyzing financial information and credit histories to determine loan eligibility and risk.
  • Apply knowledge of SBA SOP, loan eligibility requirements, and underwriting techniques to evaluate loan applications.
  • Generate financial projections, credit files, and credit memos for loan approvals and recommendations.
  • Prepare annual credit reviews and update reports tracking loan relationships and financials.
  • Assist with credit analysis for special asset relationships and work out strategies.
  • Act as a resource for Business Lending Credit Theory and provide accuracy review for SBA loan documentation.
Requirements
  • 5-7 years' SBA 7(a) credit underwriting experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in analyzing business financial statements, granting and structuring business loan requests, and generating business loan documentation.
  • Strong knowledge of SBA SOP, real estate loans, accounting procedures, and financial analysis techniques.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work with people at different job levels and understand business processes within the credit union.
