Job Summary

This position is responsible for performing routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on various vehicles and landscape equipment to ensure they are in good working condition. The successful candidate will have a strong background in vehicle and equipment maintenance, with experience in diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Routine Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and maintenance on vehicles and equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
  • Diagnose and Repair Issues: Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and repair mechanical and electrical issues in vehicles and equipment.
  • Maintain Accurate Records: Keep detailed records of maintenance and repair work performed on equipment and vehicles.
  • Manage Inventory: Order and manage inventory of spare parts and supplies to maintain a well-stocked and organized shop.
  • Assist with Landscape Services: Assist with landscape services, moves, and set-ups as needed and instructed by supervisor.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma: A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Certification or Apprenticeship: Certification from a vocational school or completion of an apprenticeship is a definite plus.
  • Experience and Training: Three to five years of experience and formal training in vehicle and equipment maintenance is required.
  • Grounds Management Experience: Grounds management experience is a plus.
  • Valid Driver's License: A valid driver's license is required, and the ability to pass all university driving requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Machinery and Systems Knowledge: Knowledge of machinery and hydraulic, electrical, diesel, and other systems and their components is preferred.
  • Automotive Repair Experience: Basic automotive repair experience is preferred.
  • Hand Tool and Precision Measurement Tool Experience: Aptitude in using various hand tools and precision measurement tools is preferred.
  • Diagnostic Tool and Equipment Experience: Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment is preferred.
  • Problem-Solving Ability: Strong problem-solving ability is preferred.
  • Organization and Record-Keeping Skills: Strong organization and record-keeping skills are preferred.
  • Health and Safety Commitment: Strong commitment to all health and safety guidelines is preferred.
