Key Responsibilities
  • Environmental Compliance
    • Act as a local expert in environmental and safety issues, providing guidance and support to management and employees.
    • Maintain accurate records associated with environmental and safety regulations and standards.
    • Participate in investigations of safety and environmental related incidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Safety Management
    • Advise local management on environmental and safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
    • Collaborate with outside agencies as necessary to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Serve as a liaison between the Health and Safety Manager and local management, facilitating communication and ensuring effective implementation of safety protocols.
  • Waste Management
    • Manage and coordinate non-hazardous and hazardous waste disposal/pick-ups in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
    • Compile and analyze data to provide reports to local and company management, highlighting areas for improvement and recommending solutions.
  • Training and Development
    • Facilitate and arrange safety and environmental related training for managers, supervisors, employees, and contractors, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Evaluate the effectiveness of EHS policies and practices, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as necessary.
  • Record Keeping and Reporting
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of environmental and safety incidents, including reports and documentation.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for record keeping and reporting.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental and/or Health/Safety or related field.
    • 4+ years of EHS experience, with a strong background in environmental and safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Skills and Knowledge
    • Extensive knowledge of environmental and safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with personnel at all levels of the organization.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze information, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with ISO 14001, 45001, and OHSAS 18001
  • OSHA 30, 1910, 1920 certifications
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills
