KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Demonstrates outstanding customer service through positive interactions with patients, visitors, and colleagues.

Prepares salad and sandwich platters, along with other specialty cold dishes according to established recipes and dietary requirements.

Precisely measures ingredients for specialty food items and prepares them in accordance with specified guidelines or instructions.

Sets up and organizes the patient tray line steam table; gathers and arranges dishes, utensils, hot and cold food items, baked goods, beverages, and condiments following departmental standards.

Accurately portions individual servings of main courses, starches, vegetables, and other side items for patients and customers.

Ensures that necessary sanitary standards are upheld throughout the food preparation and serving processes.
Maintains cleanliness in food preparation, storage, and serving areas by sweeping, mopping, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste.

Utilizes various kitchen tools and equipment, including grinders, slicers, mixers, and blenders, ensuring proper sanitation of all serving utensils.
Ensures that utensils are regularly inspected and maintained for cleanliness and proper functionality.

Stores, labels, and dates food products appropriately. Prepares, loads, transports, and cleans food carts.

Performs additional duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED preferred.

EXPERIENCE: No prior experience required. This is an entry-level position.

LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION: None required.



SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:


  • Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail.
  • If interacting with patients, must be able to read or listen and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English. English proficiency is not a requirement for non-patient-facing roles.
  • Ability to read a clock and accurately document time.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to execute instructions provided in written, oral, or diagrammatic form.
  • Ability to address problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Familiarity with kitchen equipment (e.g., grinders, slicers, mixers, blenders, and commercial dishwashers) and knowledge of their proper usage.
