Senior Financial Analyst

Allied Mineral Products stands as a premier manufacturer of monolithic refractories on a global scale. We are in search of a Senior Financial Analyst to undertake a diverse range of responsibilities within finance, accounting, and corporate risk management. This pivotal role will focus on financial planning and analysis, insurance renewals, claims management, and comprehensive reporting. The position will report directly to the Controller and will collaborate closely to enhance FP&A initiatives throughout the organization. This role is essential in ensuring that the company effectively mitigates risks and maintains cost control through strategic planning and budget compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee corporate FP&A functions.
  • Assist in corporate treasury operations.
  • Facilitate the renewal and management of the corporate insurance portfolio, encompassing liability, property, auto, and various other coverages, along with certificates of insurance.
  • Support the administration of insurance claims, including property damage, general liability, and vehicle-related incidents.
  • Act as a financial resource during the monthly closing process, handling specific journal entries, account reconciliations, financial reviews, and variance analyses.
  • Provide financial assistance for the annual external financial audit, including preparation and analysis of financial schedules.
  • Manage the corporate card program, offering support to cardholders and implementing fraud prevention measures.
  • Oversee the completion and submission of compliance surveys.
  • Compile quarterly board meeting schedules.
  • Recommend enhancements to ensure compliance and operational efficiency when deficiencies are identified.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
  • Three to five (3 to 5) years of experience in finance and/or accounting is preferred.
  • Experience in corporate insurance and claims management is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical capabilities.
  • Proficient in problem definition, data collection, fact establishment, and drawing valid conclusions.
  • Critical thinking and complex problem-solving skills.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making abilities.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer proficiency, particularly with MS Office.
  • Familiarity with SAP and FP&A software is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented and driven by tasks.
  • Exhibit a positive demeanor with exceptional interpersonal skills and professionalism.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capable of meeting deadlines and managing time-sensitive issues.
