Job Summary

ARS Treatment Centers is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team as a Dispensing Nurse. This role is responsible for dispensing medications to patients undergoing treatment for opiate addiction.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medication administration and be able to work independently with minimal supervision. A background in substance abuse treatment is preferred but not required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dispense medications to patients as prescribed by physicians
  • Monitor medication inventory and report to charge nurses
  • Reconcile inventory of Methadone and Suboxone at conclusion of dosing
  • Sign and process physician orders
  • Enter notes and input flags as per physician orders
  • Process phase change requests
  • Participate in treatment team meetings and medical meetings as required

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program with an active license as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Pennsylvania
  • Some understanding of substance abuse
  • Ability to make independent decisions when needed
  • Proficient in the use of personal computers
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Successful completion of State required background check and required training
