Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer to join our data team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and building the backend systems and strategies that will power all of our data and analytics products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop scalable API services that handle large amounts of data elegantly.
  • Collaborate with other members of the engineering team to design, develop, implement, and evolve our data strategies and approaches.
  • Build and maintain our backend API layer that fuels our current and future crypto analytics products.
  • Proactively identify and fix stability and scalability issues in partnership with the Data Engineering team.
  • Participate in product development and bring technical leadership to all aspects of our product development life cycle.
  • Estimate development scope and build specs for the implementation and rollout of system changes.
  • Drive operational efficiency by improving workflows, automating routine tasks, and identifying and mitigating project risks.
  • Cross-functionally collaborate with other teams across Blockworks to lead initiatives and move forward with program collaborations.
Requirements
  • Significant knowledge of the crypto industry and a deep understanding of data principles and architecture.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a Backend Engineer, with a strong focus on backend development and API architecture using Typescript and/or Go.
  • Demonstrated experience building blazing-fast API endpoints that can handle large amounts of data with over 1M requests per day.
  • Experience maintaining and running API endpoints using serverless architecture, including deployment, configuration, and TTFB optimization.
  • Proficiency in designing and optimizing relational databases, such as MySQL and PostgreSQL, including data modeling and query optimization.
  • Incredibly strong problem-solving and engineering skills that showcase attention to detail and foundational ability to write and maintain clean and reusable code.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience and demonstrated success in crypto, web3, startup, or incubator environments.
  • Background in caching mechanisms and tools like Redis to enhance application performance and scalability.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
