Truck Mechanic

Republic Services is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician B to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing repair and maintenance work on diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks, including chassis components, vehicle refuse bodies, and control systems.

• Perform preventative and repair maintenance functions on a variety of heavy truck and automotive systems, including suspensions and steering, general engine, transmissions, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, and drive train.
• Identify and diagnose malfunctions using a variety of electronic tools and complete applicable company training programs.
• Provide road service when necessary to ensure that the company's equipment is returned to operation in a safe and efficient manner.
• Perform line maintenance welding and fabrication as needed.

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a technician position demonstrating knowledge of both gasoline and diesel powered equipment diagnosis and repair.
• Ability to perform basic inspections with limited supervision in some of the following heavy truck or automotive systems: suspensions & steering; general engine, transmissions, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, drive train, diesel emissions.
• Valid driver's license and commercial driver's license (CDL) a plus but not required.
