Position Summary:
The Multimedia Systems Engineer is tasked with the design, installation, and upkeep of Audio-Visual (AV) and Multimedia systems. This role encompasses the management of configuration processes for both developmental and operational AV systems.
- Develop operational manuals.
- Educate clients on the effective use of AV systems.
- Support the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of AV systems.
- Provide initial support for problem identification and resolution.
- Oversee daily configuration and operational tasks of AV systems.
- Assist users in navigating and utilizing AV systems.
- Design diverse AV solutions, including secure video teleconferencing systems, enterprise collaboration tools, and various multimedia environments.
- Manage equipment inventory and accountability.
- Document configuration management processes and procedures.
- Coordinate hardware installations across multiple locations.
- Maintain an environment for hardware and software product development and integration.
- Implement hardware and software configuration management processes, including product build scripts.
- Analyze AV systems to ensure cost efficiency, integration capability, and reliability.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure cohesive project completion.
- Design and develop code for programmable devices.
- Evaluate complex hardware systems and technical issues.
- Conduct equipment testing.
- Provide maintenance support for hardware.
- Deploy and implement AV systems in various locations.
- Conduct site assessments.
- Enhance control system interfaces for improved user experience.
- Configure control systems and associated devices.
- Prepare cost proposals for project management.
- Install and maintain telecommunication systems and interpret related documentation.
Qualifications:
Minimum of five (5) years of experience as an AV Engineer, with expertise in at least seven (7) of the following areas:
- Signal processing and conversion techniques
- Digital video processing
- Compression methods
- Television standards encoding and decoding
- Audio processing and reinforcement
- Projection and sightline considerations
- Digital audio standards
- Cable termination and installation
- Broadcast equipment maintenance
- Teleconferencing system integration
- Production switcher operation
- Audio mixer operation and maintenance
- Microphone system integration
- Audio support system design
- Custom fabrication of AV components
- Low voltage wiring installation
A Bachelor's degree in a technical field from an accredited institution is required. Alternatively, four (4) years of additional AV experience may substitute for a degree, totaling nine (9) years of experience.
Two (2) years of experience with CAD programs is preferred.
Certification as a Technology Specialist (CTS) or equivalent is required.
