Medical Laboratory Specialist

At Mayo Clinic, we're committed to delivering exceptional patient care and advancing the field of medical technology. As a Medical Technologist or Medical Lab Technician, you'll play a vital role in our laboratory team, working closely with healthcare providers to diagnose and treat patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform complex analyses on biological specimens, such as blood and urine, to aid healthcare providers in patient diagnosis and treatment.
  • Participate in operational support activities to maintain and optimize testing capabilities.

Qualifications:

  • A two-year commitment to this position is required.
  • Shift differential is paid for off-shift hours worked.
  • Relocation is offered to those relocating 70 miles or greater.

Education and Experience:

  • For MT: Baccalaureate degree in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, or Clinical Laboratory Science, or Bachelor's degree plus Certificate in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
  • For MLT: Associate's degree from an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician program or U.S. military Medical Laboratory-training program.

Skills:

  • Experience working in a medical field.
  • Moderate to advanced computer skills.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Phlebotomy skills.
  • Willingness to travel to other Mayo Clinic locations for assignments.
