Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse

Avosys Technology, Inc. is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide high-quality patient care and services to our clients at Davis Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, Arizona.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering exceptional patient care, adhering to established protocols and procedures, and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will work closely with our team to provide comprehensive care to our clients, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide patient care and nursing administrative duties for outpatients in accordance with established policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines.
  • Monitor and record physiological measurements, including vital signs and other relevant data.
  • Orient new patients to the clinic/hospital environment, ensuring a smooth transition and minimizing anxiety.
  • Assist with patient check-ins, admissions, discharges, and transfers as directed, maintaining accurate records and communication.
  • Provide individualized patient teaching on preventative health-care and health maintenance, promoting healthy habits and lifestyle choices.
  • Prepare and position patients for diagnostic testing, examinations, treatments, and clinical procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Perform appropriate portions of medical examinations, treatment, diagnostic, and clinical procedures, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
  • Record treatment, procedure rendered, and observed effects, maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  • Identify patient problems and accurately notify the nursing team of observations, ensuring prompt and effective interventions.
  • Prepare and administer medications in accordance with scope of practice and training, maintaining accurate records and adherence to protocols.
  • Recognize and respond to emergencies, performing basic life support measures and ensuring patient safety.
  • Perform central sterile supply duties, maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Ensure all equipment is properly assembled, operates, cleaned, and stored at the end of each work-shift, adhering to preventive maintenance and routine cleaning protocols.
  • Perform medical records reviews and apply appropriate protocols and guidelines to determine medical needs, ensuring accurate and timely interventions.
  • Maintain patient medical records in electronic format as well as hard copy as required, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
  • Prepare and submit administrative reports, ensuring accurate and timely communication.
  • Participate in training and continuing education programs for new procedures, techniques, and equipment, maintaining up-to-date knowledge and skills.
  • Ensure a safe work environment and employee safe work habits, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate, professional, interpersonal relationships with co-workers, families, peers, and other team members, promoting a positive and respectful work environment.
Qualifications:
  • Must have successfully completed all education and training requirements leading to and graduated from an accredited national, state, or military equivalent school for Practical/Vocational Nursing.
  • Must have understanding of and ability to correctly utilize and/or apply medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, psychology, pharmacology, medical ethics and legal concepts, clinical procedures, patient care, emergency medical treatment, aseptic technique, specimen collection, diagnostic testing, prepare and administer oral and parenteral (excluding IV) medications, vaccination procedures, mechanisms of anaphylaxis and shock and their treatment, prescription drugs and their administration, operating and maintaining therapeutic equipment, risk management, medical contingency operations, computer operations in the use of basic word processing, data entry, and automated medical records.
  • Experience performing care and treatment of patients, operating and maintaining therapeutic equipment, properly administering oral and parenteral medications, conducting paraprofessional portions of physical examinations, and assisting in medical treatment of patients in accordance with established procedures and protocols, within the LPN/LVN scope of practice.
  • Shall have practiced as an LPN/LVN performing hands-on patient care in the outpatient clinical setting for at least 12 months within the past 24 months.
  • Must have and maintain throughout the course of the contract, a current, active, valid, unrestricted license (with no limitations, stipulations, or pending adverse actions) to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) from a US jurisdiction. License must be recognized and accepted by the State of practice in accordance with governing regulations.
  • Possess a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
