Electrical Engineer Job Description

TAL Consulting is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in Tennessee. As an Electrical Engineer, you will provide critical support to our maintenance and operations teams, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering support to maintenance and operations teams to ensure safe and efficient operation of facilities
  • Develop and implement solutions to recurring design and process challenges
  • Analyze equipment and process data to identify areas for improvement
  • Manage capital projects, major repairs, and maintenance initiatives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in an electrical engineering field
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience with working knowledge of manufacturing processes and principles
  • Strong problem-solving and creative thinking skills
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with ladder logic and programming/troubleshooting Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
  • Experience specifying, installing, and troubleshooting DC and AC motor drives systems
  • Experience with networking equipment, installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning
  • Experience with power distribution systems
  • Manufacturing experience in the metals or similar industry, with aluminum rolling or processing preferred
  • Technical knowledge to support the installation, operation, and repair of electrical controls and automation technology
  • Previous experience with data acquisition systems and data analytics
  • Experience in justifying, managing, and executing capital projects
