Primary Responsibilities of a Port Logistics Supervisor:

  • Oversee and manage the aggregate operations team.
  • Ensure adherence to quality and safety protocols in all port activities.
  • Formulate vessel discharge strategies and supervise operational procedures.
  • Efficiently allocate resources to facilitate smooth operations.
  • Implement performance metrics and operational guidelines.
  • Assess team performance and guarantee timely task completion.
  • Collaborate closely with the Operations Manager to ensure seamless operations.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Experience in port operations or a related industry is preferred.
  • Understanding of warehousing and supply chain processes.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to work extended hours during peak periods.
  • Physical capability to perform warehouse duties and work outdoors.

Additional Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer skills.
  • Familiarity with maintenance protocols or a readiness to learn.

Working Environment:

  • Ability to work long hours, potentially exceeding 70 hours per week during peak seasons.
  • Exposure to various weather conditions and adherence to protective gear requirements.

Physical Demands:

  • Capability to work at heights and lift weights up to 50 pounds.
  • Perform tasks including shoveling, sweeping, and greasing machinery.
  • Engage in regular communication and operate safely within a warehouse setting.
