Job Summary:

As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist at Humboldt Park Health, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care through the use of advanced ultrasound technology. This position requires a strong understanding of ultrasound principles and techniques, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Gather and review patient test reports, selecting appropriate ultrasound testing techniques to confirm or negate suspected pathologies and anatomical irregularities.
  2. Instruct patients on examination procedures, explaining equipment operation and scanning techniques to ensure optimal results.
  3. Assist patients in positioning for optimal scan results, monitoring their condition during the scan and reporting any significant changes to medical personnel.
  4. Perform ultrasound testing, directing ultrasound beams via transducer to identify patient organs and body parts, and forwarding digital images to PACS for interpretation.
  5. Present test results and significant patient medical history to radiologists for review, conferring with them regarding interpretation and answering questions about specific scans.
  6. Perform routine maintenance and calibration on ultrasound equipment, conducting quality control tests and informing superiors of necessary adjustments and repairs.
  7. Maintain the ultrasound testing area in good order, ensuring cleanliness and sufficient supplies for scheduled tests.
  8. Stay up-to-date with developments in the field of ultrasound by reviewing literature, attending in-service courses, and interacting with peers.
  9. Assist with sterile procedures such as aspirations, drainages, and biopsies associated with ultrasound-guided procedures.
  10. Plan and organize work effectively, defining assignments and carrying them out as needed.

Requirements:
  • Associate's Degree from an approved and accredited program in Ultrasonography.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in ultrasound technology.
  • Current licensure and ARDMS certification.
  • CPR certification.
