Pressroom Associate

The Seattle Times is seeking a skilled Pressroom Associate to join our team. As a Pressroom Associate, you will play a critical role in maintaining the efficiency of our press operations. This is a dynamic and fast-paced environment that requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team.

• Assist Press Lead Operator with daily instructions and tasks
• Prepare the press area by emptying garbage cans and ensuring a clean and safe working environment
• Read and familiarize yourself with work orders to ensure accurate and efficient processing
• Verify the proper configuration and organization of printed items for delivery
• Stack product into precise alignment on pallets for removal to another area
• Comply with all safety requirements and report any issues to the Press Lead Operator
• Perform minor repairs and adjustments to equipment as needed

• At least one year of previous warehouse or industrial experience preferred (but not required)
• Basic proficiency in English, both written and oral
• Ability to regularly lift and move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and move 100 pounds
• Ability to climb up and down ladders
• Ability to understand and follow safety guidelines
