About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Pyschiatrist - MD to join our team at Connections Health Solutions. As a key member of our crisis response team, you will play a critical role in providing medical and clinical services to individuals in crisis.

Responsibilities
  • Direct, coordinate, and provide medical/clinical services to specified individuals within the facility, including intervention, assessment, differential diagnosis, treatment planning, medication management, engagement, family meetings, supportive psychotherapy, patient education, risk assessment, and discharge planning.
  • Serve as the attending psychiatrist to specified individuals, completing initial psychiatric assessments, court-ordered evaluations as required, crisis interventions, family interventions, focused crisis diagnostic assessments, assessments of capacity for consent to treatment, risk assessments, patient education, progress toward treatment goals, and discharge planning.
  • Document individuals progress in the Electronic Health Record (EHR), including admission orders, progress notes, and discharge orders.
  • Oversee delivery of medication education and consent, according to established policy.
  • Order laboratory tests according to standards of clinical practice, review the health assessment completed by nursing staff, obtain a past and current medical history, and conduct a focused physical examination as indicated, according to established guidelines.
  • Assess individuals needs and guide the clinical team while managing treatment plan updates, initiating contact with Outpatient Behavioral Health Provider according to established guidelines, and reviewing and utilizing all available documents from the crisis clinical team.
  • Provide necessary information to clinical team regarding inpatient utilization, utilize appropriate medication based on best practices, and collaborate with other personnel to ensure that each treatment modality is appropriate for the individual.
  • Work with outside psychiatric providers in crisis and inpatient services, review involuntary petitions, assess involuntary patients, and coordinate with the legal system to follow established guidelines for Court Ordered Evaluation and Treatment.
  • Participate in medical staff meetings, including regional and quarterly meetings, participate in all required CRC/UPC meetings, and participate in any meeting as requested by Medical Leadership.
Qualifications
  • Doctorate of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine.
  • 3 years of post-doctoral experience, to include approved psychiatric residency training programs, in the delivery of mental health treatment of children, adolescents, and/or adults.
  • Licensed by the State of Arizona, eligible for Board Certification.
  • Unrestricted DEA license.
