Job Description

Position: Robotics Coach - Elementary & Middle Schools

Evaluation: Principal and Assistant Principal

Job Summary: The Robotics Coach will establish a robotics team to compete in robotics competitions. The Robotics Coach will handle all the logistics necessary to ensure a successful team and will coordinate fundraising efforts to cover costs. The Robotics coach will recruit new members to ensure the longevity of the program.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and conduct robotics teams.
  • Conduct selection process for determining team members.
  • Schedule and supervise team(s) at robotics competitions.
  • Coordinate/assign responsibilities of team members.
  • Supervise team members when practicing and competing.
  • Foster a climate conducive to learning and healthy, ethical competition.
  • Establish and implement practice schedules for the team(s) with a minimum of 2 one-hour practices per week and one competition per month.
  • Promote and maintain positive pupil-teacher-parent relationships.
  • Maintain professional work habits.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Holds a West Virginia Teaching Certificate.
  • Experience preferred with VEX Robotics equipment and competitions.
  • Ability to effectively plan for team activities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others.
  • Preferred prior completion of PLTW Launch Training.
  • Employed at bidding site.

Length of Employment: School Year

Salary: $ annually
