Job Summary

The Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine's Community Practice is seeking a dedicated and experienced supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of our academic primary care veterinary clinic. This unique opportunity involves partnering with faculty veterinarians, including board-certified specialists in canine and feline practice, and managing a team of licensed veterinary technicians, assistants, and clinical year veterinary students to ensure the delivery of high-quality, low-stress veterinary care to our canine and feline patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate schedules and align resources to ensure excellent patient care and experiences for our clients.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive environment and assess and improve operational processes to best serve our community's needs.
  • Manage a team of licensed veterinary technicians, assistants, and clinical year veterinary students.
  • Partner with faculty veterinarians, including board-certified specialists in canine and feline practice.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in a multi-doctor healthcare setting.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others toward common goals.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and client service skills, with a compassionate and empathetic approach.
  • Proficiency in veterinary practice management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to analyze financial data, develop budgets, and implement cost-effective solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years veterinary practice management.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field such as veterinary technology or business administration.
  • Previous experience in a supervisor role.
  • CVPM (or interest in obtaining).
  • Experience in an academic or veterinary primary care setting.
