Position Summary:

  • The Coffee Specialist will craft and serve high-quality coffee beverages, alongside select food offerings, to our valued customers.

Supervisory Duties:

  • No supervisory responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve a variety of specialty hot and cold beverages, as well as pastries and food items, adhering to Summer Moon's standards.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by providing detailed information about our offerings to enhance the customer experience.
  • Process customer orders and handle payments using a point-of-sale system.
  • Maintain cleanliness in customer areas by restocking condiment stations and ensuring tables are sanitized.
  • Regularly clean and organize work areas, including restocking supplies and washing dishes.
  • Complete daily checklists to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Receive and organize inventory from suppliers.
  • Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping and mopping floors.
  • Execute additional tasks as assigned.


Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Capability to use a step ladder to access high areas, up to 6 feet.
  • Knowledge of safe food and beverage handling practices in compliance with health regulations.
  • Ability to memorize a wide range of drink recipes and maintain a fast pace to serve customers efficiently.


Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Possession of a valid food handler's certificate in accordance with local regulations.

Physical Demands:

  • Extended periods of standing and operating cash registers and brewing equipment, along with various cleaning tasks.
  • Ability to perform repetitive movements for extended durations.
  • Proficient in operating espresso machines and related brewing equipment safely and effectively.
  • Must be able to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Availability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the workplace is required.

Minimum Age Requirement:

  • Applicants must be at least 17 years old.
