Job Summary

Capital Health seeks a highly skilled Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon to join our team. As a key member of our medical staff, you will provide advanced care to complex orthopedic trauma patients, including those with pelvic fractures, complex intra-articular fractures, and other complex pathologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide surgical and non-surgical care to complex orthopedic trauma patients
  • Plan and perform surgery on complex orthopedic cases, including pelvic fractures and complex long bone fractures
  • Admit and manage patients who present through the orthopedic trauma service
  • Co-manage patients on other services as needed
  • Participate in the emergency call schedule for orthopedic call
  • Provide post-operative care (inpatient and outpatient) within the scope of practice
  • Provide general orthopedic outpatient care for elective cases
  • Develop a trauma call schedule and coordinate with the Director of Trauma
  • Be the orthopedic liaison to multi-disciplinary committees
  • Provide training to medical residents, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners
  • Assist in the development of quality metrics and programs
  • Comply with institution policies for professional work, including credentialing, documentation, and billing
Requirements
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible Orthopedic surgeon with experience at an ACS verified Level I or II trauma center or fellowship-trained in Orthopedic traumatology
  • Ability to work effectively with other members of the extended inter-professional team
