A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CNP or PA

In this role, you will collaborate with our healthcare team to deliver diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health services. You will warmly greet patients, listen to their concerns, review their medical histories, and conduct thorough physical examinations. Utilizing effective patient care strategies, you will interpret and integrate data to formulate appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic plans, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention.

Your responsibilities may include ordering and interpreting laboratory tests and imaging studies. After establishing a diagnosis, you will create and implement a treatment plan, which may involve making referrals for specialized consultations. You will also manage minor injuries and perform basic procedures such as suturing, splinting, casting, and mole removal. Within the scope of the supervising physician's delegated prescriptive authority, you will prescribe medications as necessary to support the treatment plan.

Focusing on patient-centered care, you will take the time to educate and counsel patients and their families regarding their treatment plans. You will also ensure accurate documentation of all evaluations, care, and services provided. There is immense satisfaction in witnessing your patients' recovery and improved quality of life.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Certifications:
  • Master's degree in Nursing
  • Current, unencumbered license in South Dakota
  • State Controlled Substance Registration
  • DEA certification
Experience:
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with Electronic Medical Records
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Experience with process improvement and/or quality improvement methodologies
