We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago. As a key member of our powerhouse operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our electrical equipment and systems.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and participate in the installation, maintenance, and repair of high and low voltage power and light circuits, motors, lighting fixtures, and other electrical equipment.
- Direct and train assigned journeymen and helpers in job duties and safety practices.
- Check and sign clearances for disconnecting or de-energizing electric circuits and equipment.
- Administer first aid in case of injury and secure prompt medical attention when necessary.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Five years of experience in the operation and maintenance of a hydroelectric generating plant or equivalent experience and training in a coal-fired electrical plant, nuclear power plant, or other high voltage electrical power generating plant.
- Ability to plan and supervise the work of others.
- Ability to read electrical drawings and layouts.
- Thorough knowledge of the principles, practices, and procedures of the electrical trade.
This role may involve exposure to a variety of operating mechanical equipment and loud noise and/or noxious odors. You may also work in all types of weather conditions at the controlling works and throughout the powerhouse facilities.
