Job Summary:

Responsibilities:

Provide high-quality patient care to patients with advanced pulmonary disease and lung transplant recipients

Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each patient

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care

Participate in clinical teaching and research activities

Requirements:

Terminal degree in medicine (MD/DO) or equivalent

Board certification in internal medicine and pulmonary medicine

Completion of an accredited pulmonary and critical care fellowship

Additional training and experience in lung transplant management and advanced pulmonary disease

The University of Wisconsin Hospital serves as one of only three lung transplant centers for the VA Health system. Our Advanced Lung Disease programs include Cystic Fibrosis, Pulmonary Hypertension, ILD and Severe Obstructive Lung Disease, and the inpatient service spans general ward and Intensive Care Unit.

This position will have clinical responsibilities including provision of care (inpatient and outpatient) for patients with Advanced Pulmonary Disease and Lung Transplant.

Additional areas of clinical focus could include procedural service, general pulmonary disease and critical care, based on candidate's interest.

Our providers participate in clinical teaching of residents and fellows.

Physicians hired on the CHS track will have additional responsibilities. protected time in education and/or research that support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health.

An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.

MD/DO or Equivalent
Board Certified/Board Eligible Internal Medicine as well as Pulmonary Medicine.

Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship. Additional training and experience in the management of Lung Transplant candidates and recipients is required, including management of other Advanced Pulmonary Diseases.

License/Certification:

Eligible for Wisconsin Medical license.
