Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the information assurance initiatives of the program, organization, system, or enclave.
  • Assist in the development, coordination, implementation, and enforcement of information systems security policies, standards, and methodologies.
  • Maintain the operational security posture of an information system or program, ensuring adherence to established security policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Oversee the security aspects of the information system and manage daily security operations.
  • Evaluate security solutions to confirm compliance with requirements for handling classified information.
  • Conduct vulnerability and risk assessments to facilitate certification and accreditation processes.
  • Provide configuration management for information system security software, hardware, and firmware.
  • Manage system changes and assess their security implications.
  • Prepare and review essential documentation, including System Security Plans (SSPs), Risk Assessment Reports, Certification and Accreditation (C&A) packages, and System Requirements Traceability Matrices (SRTMs).
  • Support security authorization activities in accordance with the Information System Certification and Accreditation Process (NISCAP) and the DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF).

Clearance Requirement:

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security, or a related field. Alternatively, an additional five (5) years of experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree, totaling twelve (12) years or more of relevant experience.

Certification Requirement:

  • Compliance with DoD M IAM Level II or IAT Level III (e.g., CASP, CISSP, or Associate) is mandatory.

Experience:

  • A minimum of seven (7+) years of experience as an Information Systems Security Officer supporting Intelligence Community (IC) or Department of Defense (DoD) programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
