Position Summary
The role of Plant Reliability Specialist involves serving as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) and functional leader for essential plant-wide systems, including Activplant, Visual Management, MTD Autosave systems, and IoT initiatives. Responsibilities encompass engineering tasks, system deployment planning, installation, operation, and maintenance of these critical systems. This position will also involve leading and coordinating with departmental leaders, SMEs, and technical personnel to optimize production technologies and smart factory initiatives, ensuring stable production while enhancing delivery and quality metrics.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute projects aimed at standardization, optimization, and continuous improvement of assigned systems to enhance plant performance.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and departmental leadership to achieve consensus on necessary improvements and standardization efforts.
- Act as the IT change advocate and IoT Lead for the Manufacturing Engineering Systems Division (MESD).
- Coordinate system upgrades and project activities across production departments, ensuring adherence to planned schedules.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive plant-wide reports to monitor system utilization and drive continuous improvement.
- Conduct complex troubleshooting and analysis of equipment to resolve system-related issues promptly.
- Support MESD Business planning and Reliability teams.
- Mentor and develop department-level SMEs for each system.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Robotics, Industrial Equipment, Electrical, Mechanical, Systems Engineering) or equivalent experience.
- 2-8 years of relevant experience, with a preference for four years in Equipment Engineering or six years in Equipment Service, focusing on production equipment capabilities involving PLC, IT, networking, and communications.
- Strong self-management skills and a proactive approach to work.
Decision-Making Responsibilities
- Develop systems to drive regional solutions and deployment.
- Prioritize projects aimed at improving departmental characteristics.
- Implement complex countermeasures for regional improvement initiatives.
Work Environment
- Fast-paced and occasionally high-stress environment.
- Shifts may vary based on business requirements.
- Overtime may be necessary, including weekends, holidays, and during plant shutdowns.
- Some travel may be required, both domestic and international.
- Physical demands include standing, sitting, bending, climbing, and walking regularly.
