About the OpportunityWe are seeking a talented Civil Engineering Intern to join our Community Development Group in multiple locations throughout the Midwest. As an intern, you will work in a dynamic team environment and have exposure to community development projects that include urban design and planning, roadways, park and recreation design, multi-use trail and pathway design, traffic engineering, landscape architecture, assessment and rehabilitation, infrastructure design, water and wastewater conveyance, and storm water management.
Job DescriptionThis is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in civil engineering and contribute to the success of our team. You will be responsible for assisting with project delivery, communicating with stakeholders, and developing your skills in CAD drafting and design.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with preparation of plans and specifications, reports, and other project deliverables.
- Inspect construction sites for compliance with project documents and engineering principles.
- Use technical and communication abilities to complete the civil component of a wide variety of projects in a dynamic design team setting.
- Communicate effectively with construction and engineering staff, clients, and other project stakeholders.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Requires understanding of basic AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- In progress toward earning a bachelor's degree (minimum) in civil engineering or environmental engineering.
