Key Responsibilities- Analyze and code patient records for accurate DRG calculation and timely reimbursement
- Abstract medical record information into hospital databases and registries for statistical quality data and fiscal reporting
- Develop and maintain accurate and efficient coding and abstracting processes
- Collaborate with clinical staff and management to ensure data quality and integrity
- Represent the hospital in court as the Custodian of Records as needed
- One year of hospital outpatient coding experience required; inpatient coding experience preferred
- Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) and Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certifications required
- Associates of Applied Science in Health Information Management Technology required
