This iconic establishment has hosted numerous notable figures throughout history, and it is said that the martini was invented here. While the hotel's stunning Beaux-Arts facade remains intact, the interior has been transformed to offer a new luxury aesthetic. Guests can enjoy 300 elegantly appointed rooms and suites with breathtaking views and bespoke furnishings, all within a setting that embodies New York City's premier luxury lifestyle.

Position Overview:
The Cocktail Service Attendant is responsible for delivering prompt and courteous service, ensuring guest satisfaction is the top priority. This role includes promoting specials and upselling beverages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a friendly, helpful, and courteous demeanor towards all guests, managers, and colleagues.
  • Complete the opening and closing checklist in accordance with established standards.
  • Greet guests, take drink orders, relay them to the bartender, process the orders, deliver them to guests, and handle payment transactions.
  • Possess knowledge of garnishes for various drinks.
  • Process credit card and room charges accurately.
  • Clear and clean tables after guests depart, returning glasses for washing.
  • Ensure the lounge area is clean and free of debris at all times.
  • Adhere to cash handling policies and prepare closing reports for the night audit.
  • Perform all assigned side work duties as per the schedule.
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of state liquor laws.
  • Be familiar with the computer system used for order processing.
  • Assist the bartender in drink preparation as needed.
  • Support the bartender with hors d'oeuvres setup and breakdown during cocktail hours.
  • Ensure overall guest satisfaction at all times.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; experience in a hotel or related field is preferred.
  • Must be of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages as per local laws.
  • Flexibility in working hours is required.
  • Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10 pounds frequently.
  • Capability to stand for the duration of the shift.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with all levels of staff and guests.
  • Strong listening skills to understand and address concerns from guests and employees.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities to meet deadlines.
  • Approach all interactions with guests and staff in a friendly and service-oriented manner.
  • Attend all required meetings and training sessions.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with company standards.
  • Exhibit high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the proper uniform and nametag.
  • Comply with company standards and regulations to promote safe and efficient operations.
  • Maximize productivity and assist in identifying and solving problems.
  • Handle issues effectively, including anticipating and preventing potential problems.
  • Understand and apply complex information from various sources to achieve objectives.
  • Cross-train in other hotel-related areas as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Demonstrate initiative by anticipating guest or operational needs.
  • Perform additional duties as requested by management.
  • Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.

Salary Range: $13.25 plus gratuity
