Project Overview:

We are currently engaged in a significant project involving a multi-family community comprising 536 units, featuring multiple apartment buildings and a community clubhouse. The construction involves modern concrete and steel frameworks.

Position Summary:

As the Underground Utility Supervisor, you will take charge of the installation and management of both wet and dry underground utilities, including essential services such as water, sewer, and storm drainage systems. Your leadership will guide a skilled team of pipelayers and excavators, ensuring that all tasks are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project timelines. You will also be responsible for maintaining high standards of quality control, reviewing construction plans, and adhering to all relevant regulations and safety measures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the installation and layout of underground utilities, including water, sewer, and storm drainage systems.
  • Manage and coordinate crew schedules effectively.
  • Develop a three-week work schedule for the team.
  • Interpret and analyze construction plans and specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety protocols and procedures.
  • Perform additional related duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in underground utility construction, with prior leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Strong understanding of construction regulations, safety protocols, and industry best practices.
  • Proven experience in managing crews.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with team members, inspectors, and management.
  • Hands-on experience with underground utility installation, trenching, grading, and shoring.
  • Familiarity with equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret project plans and blueprints.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite or similar project management tools.
  • Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
  • Valid driver's license.

Physical Requirements:

  • Capability to perform physical labor and strenuous tasks.
  • Ability to stand and walk on project sites for extended periods.
  • Regularly required to communicate effectively.
  • Frequent use of hands for handling and manipulation of tools.
  • Occasional requirements to reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Ability to ascend and descend ladders and work in confined spaces.
  • Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds regularly.
  • Must be able to respond quickly to auditory signals.
  • Ability to navigate uneven terrain safely.
  • Must be able to see and react to hazardous situations.
  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work in varying environmental conditions.
